I'm now curious to pick up this book and read it. If it's funny AND talks about personal finance, then it offers me the best of both worlds :-) - Investing 101

I have heard good things about this book and will be reviewing it soon as well. Like you mention it is a more humor book although let's be honest, I'm sure those tricks do work. - craig

I should mention this is classified as a humor book and really I wouldn't seriously do this. (My deep seated hatred of potlucks is getting to be well known and I actually was with the press for awhile.)

There was actual money advice in the book (like where to get the best interest rates) but the cheapest stuff is more fun to write about.

In short, don't lie... but knowing how people could lie in these situations will allow you to spot bad behavior and call people on it. - Nicole

I guess it goes with the title including 'Scoundrel' but 2 of the examples you gave there include lying to folks. I mean.. if you're going to do that why not tell the potluck people your dog ate your lasagna etc. :) - Matthew Baya
